GAA CLUB NOTES

Congratulations to the Senior team as they retained the Division 1 title after a closely contested game with Tuam Stars on Friday evening. The game was level after normal time, extra-time and required penalties to separate the two teams. It was a game full of drama, twists and turns but the Club is delighted with the manner of the teams performance and the win. Well done to all the players and Management, a great springboard into the Championship.

The Junior A team hosted St. Michael’s on Friday evening for Round 5 of the Junior A Championship North. Our 4th team faced a tough battle against St Michael's 2nd team. However, our lads fought hard until the end. The game was well-contested despite the scoreline. The game finished Corofin 0-10 St. Michael’s 4-14.

Hard luck to the Intermediates who travelled to Pearse Stadium on Sunday afternoon to battle it out with Oughterard for the Division 3A title. It was a blistering start from Oughterard who took a commanding lead before the break. The 2nd half was a more closely contested affair but the lads could not recover the 1st half deficit. The game finished Corofin 0-8 Oughterard 1-15. Well done to the Intermediate panel and Management for a great League campaign to reach the final.

The U-19 team play the opening Round of the U-19 ‘A’ Championship North on Wednesday evening as they host Tuam Stars in Corofin at 7:30pm. Best of luck to the panel and the Management for the season ahead.

LGFA CLUB NOTES

Last Monday (26th June) the Junior team had an emphatic win over Naomh Mhuire in Round 3 of the Coen Cup. The girls took control of the game from the start and never let up. The game finished Corofin 9-09 Naomh Mhuire 0-12. Well done ladies!

UNDERAGE

The u8 boys put on a half-time show in Tuam Stadium last Friday evening that the Harlem Globetrotters would have been proud of! A fine exhibition of skill was on display and we have no doubt that we will see the boys wear the club colours in Tuam Stadium in years to come, maybe even the County colours!

The U-12 Girls Blue team will play their Division 2 Cup Final against Loughrea on Saturday at 11:00am in Loughrea. The U-12 Girls Green team will play their Division 6 Shield Final against Monivea-Abbey on Saturday at 1:30pm in Monivea-Abbey. Best of luck to all the girls taking part and the management teams.

A reminder that the Nursery Group continues to train in Belclare on Saturdays from 10:15 – 11:15am. This training is for boys and girls born in 2017 and 2018 only.
