GAA CLUB NOTES

The U19’s played Tuam Stars on Monday evening (this evening) in Tuam Stars for their rescheduled ‘A’ North League fixture. After a difficult first half, the lads rallied hard for the 2nd half but were undable to close the gap. The game finished Corofin 1-11 Tuam Stars 1-13. Goal from Robbie Winston.

On Thursday the Junior team host Glink in Corofin at 7:15pm for their Round 4 fixture of the Division 4B League.

On Friday the Senior team host Annaghdown in Corofin at 7:15pm for their Round 4 fixture of the Division 1 League.

On Saturday the Intermediate team are away to Oughterard at 7:00pm for their Round 4 fixture of the Division 3A League.

The Galway Minors play Roscommon on Friday in Tuam Stadium at 6:30pm their Round 2 fixture of the Connacht GAA Minor Football Championship League. Best of luck to Killian Joyce, Ross Coen and Vincent Gill.

On Sunday the Galway Seniors play Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon at 4:00pm in the Connacht GAA Senior Football Semi-Final. The Club wishes all our players involved in the County Panel the very best of luck.


LGFA CLUB NOTES

On Friday the Senior team played Annaghdown in Corofin for Round 3 of Division 1. It was a tight game with great football on show. The game finished in a draw with a scoreline of Corofin 1-10 Annaghdown 0-13. Goal from Hannah McHugh.

On Sunday afternoon the Junior B team played An Spidéal in Corofin for Round 3 of Division 5. It was another tight game and the girls battled brilliantly came away with the win on the slimmest of margins. The game finished Corofin 3-10 An Spidéal 4-06.

The Junior C girls played Loughrea in Belclare Monday evening (this evening). It was a good game from the girls who played very well. Unfortunately Loughrea were able to edge the game wit hthe scoreline finishing Corofin 1-11 Loughrea 4-5.

Last Saturday the Galway Senior team played Kerry in the NFL Division 1 Final in Croke Park. It was a tough game against tough opposition where goals were a major factor. Kerry ran out winners on a scoreline of Kerry 5-11 Galway 1-10. Leanne Coen and Róisín Leonard started the game, while Karen Connolly and Tracey Leonard were named on the bench. Leanne scored 1 point and Róisín scored 2 points. Well done to the girls for a fabulous league campaign and they represented the Club at County level with distinction. Well done girls!


CLUB CELEBRATION NIGHT

Save the date! Please note the revised date for the Club Celebration Night is May 26th. A great night will be in store as we present medals due to players, including All-Ireland medals for two of the historic 3-in-a-row teams! Details on venue, tickets, etc will be announced in due course. We look forward to celebrating our Club’s recent successes with as many of our Members and Supporters as possible.
