AWARD:
A photo of the Corofin players celebrating with the Andy Merrigan Cup after winning the All-Ireland Senior Club Championship Final in Croke Park, in January 2020, won the Sports Non-Action Press Photographer of the Year Awards 2021. The photograph was taken by Bryan Keane and was entitled “Cup Up and Away”. The judges said of the photo: “While images of teams celebrating with a trophy are quiet common, this photograph works on an entirely different level – every detail is brilliant, the cup seems to float as if by magic, the expressions on the faces of the players are uniformly ecstatic, the composition is perfect and the lighting adds excitement and drama. A perfect picture of celebration.” The photo can be viewed on the club website and on our social media pages.
UNDERAGE:
The April edition of our Underage Newsletter entitled “Níos mó ná cluiche #3” (It's more than a game), has just been published.
It was great to see all our underage players and their coaches back on the pitches in the past week. Well done to all who have made the return so safe and smooth for all.
