COVID 19:
The Corofin GAA COVID-19 coordination team is reaching out to community organisations and individuals to ensure that where possible we provide our help and support the elderly / most vulnerable in our parish at this difficult time. We are partnering with various service providers in the community to identify immediate needs. COVID-19 contact details and updates on activities are on our club website.
In the short term the following club officers can be contacted if any immediate assistance required.
M Ryder (086) 8063166; J Raftery (087) 2585843;
J McHugh (086) 381 6948; T Greaney (0 87) 6257090.
The information below is mainly meant for those who are actually cocooning, some of the information may be of benefit to anyone who may also be calling to those people, particularly the sections on:
· “How you can get assistance with foods and medicines if you are cocooning”;
· “Advice for visitors, including those who are providing care for you”;
· “Advice for informal carers”.
If our role is only to stay in touch with those people and get shopping etc for them, the following advice would also be relevant:
· Stay in touch with elderly people in your area who may need help;
· Tell them that you can be contacted at any time if they need any help;
· Give them your telephone number;
· If bringing shopping to them, leave it at the door and tell them that you have done so;
· Do not go into the house;
· Wash your hands before and after doing the shopping.
Posters which are in general use for Coronavirus, and which may be of assistance for our playing facilities in Corofin and Belclare can be found on the HSE Website www.hse.ie by clicking on the section in the Homepage entitled “Coronavirus: For health information and advice, read our pages on Coronavirus” and then clicking on “Posters and resources” when you get into the Coronavirus page.
