GAA CLUB NOTES
On Sunday afternoon the U-19’s played their North Board Championship Final against Claregalway in Tuam Stadium. It was another difficult 1st half for the lads who were behind at the break with the scoreline Corofin 0-02 Claregalway 0-06.
However, this team has shown grit and character all year and the second half was a very spirited display from the team, with astute substitutions from the sideline, A goal from Cian Murphy and a fortuitous Claregalway own goal gave the Corofin lads a much needed boost to push them in front at a vital stage in the game. The game finished on Corofin 2-07 Claregalway 0-09.
Ross Coen was presented with the Man of The Match award before team captain Eoin Brady lifted the cup to a rapturous roar from the onlooking supporters and teammate. Congratulations to the whole and panel and the Management team on their success. A County Final awaits the U-19’s in the coming weeks. Details of the fixture are yet to be confirmed.
On Saturday the Senior team play their Connacht Club Semi-Final against Ballina-Stephenites at 2:00pm in Pearse Stadium. Best of luck to the players and management!
