WALKWAY:
During the current lockdown we have seen the importance to the community of a safe area to exercise. It’s great to see the significant use the walkway is getting every day. As an extension of our current arrangements, the GAA grounds will now be open from 10.00 am each day. We will also light the walkway around the pitch from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm Monday to Friday. We ask that you follow the one way system in the grounds and adhere to all HSE guidance.
A big thank you to Electric Skyline who gave us great support in addressing the lighting challenges in the grounds and along the walkway to support this initiative.

MY LIFE APP:
We have doubled our number of active members participating in the My Life “Every Step Counts” challenge in the last week. So we are making progress but would like to double it again this week. Download the App and connect to Corofin GAA Club and follow how your own steps are matching those of family, neighbours and friends.

UNDERAGE:
The underage AGM took place online on Microsoft Teams last Friday night. There was an impressive attendance of over 50 people. New chairman Aidan Donnellan gave a thorough review of the underage year. Remarkably most teams completed an impressive programme of training and fixtures despite the various lockdowns during the year. John Raftery gave an overview of the underage finances and the challenges in the year ahead. New club chairman Tom Greaney and club secretary Jimmy McHugh outlined the impressive plans for the parent club to all in attendance, which were extremely well received. Brian McDonald gave an overview of the role of the Children’s Officer and the importance of the nursery programme in the club. Alan Rowe detailed his role as Irish language officer. Management for all teams from under 15 to under 6 were ratified and the meeting concluded with various suggestions to improve the underage structures in the club. The following are the officers for the underage club for 2021: Chairman Aidan Donnellan, Secretary Martin Collins, Vice Chairman Cecil Looney, Children’s Officer Brian McDonald, Coaching Officer Frank Morris. Best wishes to Aidan and all his team in the year ahead.
