GAA CLUB NOTES

On Sunday afternoon the U-19 team played their County Final against Killannin in Pearse Stadium. Killannin started the brighter but thanks to two goals from Cian Murphy (penalty) and Shane Canavan kept the Corofin lads in the game going into the break. The half-time score stood at Corofin 2-00 Kilannin 0-08. The second half saw Corofin register their first points of the game along with a goal from Rory Donnellan to bring the team to within 3 points of Kilannin with 5 minutes ago. Unfortunately Kilannin were able to hold on for the win. The game finished Corofin 3-03 Kilannin 0-15.

Despite the loss, it has been an amazing year for this group of players. This team was a joy to support and we look forward to their continued development. Well done to the players and management team on a great season where they secured successive North Board Championships.

The Senior team play their Connacht Club Championship Final against St Brigid’s of Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon at 1:30pm on Sunday. We ask the community to help getting plenty of colour out around the parish ahead of the weekend, with any flags banners, etc, lets get the parish covered in the yellow and green!

Tickets for the Connacht Final can be purchased here! Connacht GAA advises you secure your ticket early!
