GAA CLUB NOTES

On Saturday the Seniors play Round 2 of the Championship against Killannin at 4:30pm in Pearse Stadium. On Sunday the Intermediates play the opening round of their Championship campaign when the play Caltra at 1:00pm in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe.

LGFA CLUB NOTES

CONGRATULATIONS to Club player Ella Zywczyk and the Galway Minors on their All-Ireland success, beating Kildare last Saturday in Pearse Park, Longford. After being behind by 2 points at the break, the girls took control for the second half and out-scored Kildare 2-07 to 0-02, resulting in a final scoreline of Galway 3-11 Kildare 1-08. Well done to Ella and her teammates on bringing home Galway’s first Minor ‘A’ title since 2018.

UNDERAGE

The U-12 Girls Yellow Team started their Division 4 Autumn League last Wednesday evening when they hosted Salthill-Knocknacarra in Belclare. The girls gave a brilliant display of their footballing skills and their teamwork from the throw-in right to the final whistle. An impressive win against a very skilled Salthill-Knocknacarra team was the girls’ reward, well done to all the girls in the Yellow team. Their next game is away to Monivea-Abbey on Thursday at 7:15pm

The U-12 Girls Blue team start their Division 1 Autumn League on Monday against Annaghdown at 7:00pm. After winning Division 2 in the Summer League the girls were promoted and they cannot wait to challenge themselves in the higher division. The U-12 Girls Green team continue their Division 7 Autumn League on Tuesday when they host Naomh Mhuire at 7:00pm, pitch to be confirmed. Best of luck to all the girls!
