GAA CLUB NOTES

The U-19 team played the opening Round of the U-19 ‘A’ Championship North last Wednesday evening as they hosted Tuam Stars in Corofin. It was a tight first half with the lads holding a 1-point lead at the break. However, Tuam found an extra gear in the second half and were able to turn that deficit around and ended the game winners on a scoreline of Corofin 0-7 Tuam Stars 0-09.

The U-17 team hosted Dunmore MacHales in Corofin on Sunday morning for Round 2 of the ‘A’ Championship North. It was a fantastic footballing performance from the boys as they took a commanding lead early in the game and never looked back. The game finished up Corofin 6-14 Dunmore MacHales 2-07. Well done boys.

The Junior team kick start their Championship on Friday as they host Mountbellew-Moylough in Corofin at 8pm. The Junior D team are away to Kilconly on Saturday at 5:00pm for the Semi-Final of the Junior D North League/Shield. Best of luck to the players and Management.

UNDERAGE

The Club is immensely proud of our U-12 Girls! The Blue team showcased their skills and teamwork by winning the Division 2 Cup Final against Loughrea on Saturday. They started off strong, taking an early lead despite challenging conditions. Working together tirelessly, they secured the Division 2 Cup in the second half. In Monivea, our Green team displayed exceptional determination and spirit in their Division 6 Shield Final. It was a closely contested game, with every girl giving their all. Although the outcome could have gone either way, Monivea-Abbey held on with a remarkable defensive performance. Congratulations to Monivea-Abbey, and we look forward to playing you again in the future.

Kudos also to our three U-12 Girls teams (Blue, Yellow & Green) for their impressive Summer League campaigns in Divisions 1, 4 & 6. As the Autumn Leagues approach, we look forward to your continued development of skills.

A reminder that the Nursery Group continues to train in Belclare on Saturdays from 10:15 – 11:15am. This training is for boys and girls born in 2017 and 2018 only.
