UNDERAGE:
The first meeting of the underage committee took place on Monday 1st February at 7.45. The meeting was held online using Microsoft Teams and there were 40 people in attendance on the night, which was great. Thanks to everybody for their contributions. Martin Collins gave an overview of the minutes of the AGM. Cecil Looney detailed the work of the communications group and their hopes to produce a monthly newsletter on underage activities for all parents and the development of guidelines for coaches’ communications with parents. Brian McDonald gave an overview of the club’s policies and procedures and especially the importance of child safeguarding. All management teams are working diligently preparing for the upcoming season and very much looking forward to getting started soon. We have affiliated 12 teams from under 12 to under 16 this year and management teams will be in contact with the parents this week regarding membership and plans for the year. Brian Murphy detailed how over 100 people are now taking part in every step counts challenge and other well-being events that will be rolled out for players and parents this year. The underage coaches will have Croke Park tickets for sale, with brilliant prizes for only €10, in the coming weeks. We appeal to all parents to support this draw as all funds from this draw sold by the coaches will aid underage football this year. The meeting ended by examining proper warm up and cool down techniques to be implemented in the year ahead. The next meeting of the underage committee is on March 1st at 7.45.

SYMPATHY:
The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Noel Grehan, Dublin/Tuam, brother in law of Norrie O’Grady, Belclare, who died recently. May he rest in peace.
