END OF THE YEAR:
As we near the end of 2020, a year like no other, we reflect on the limited club activities for the year. We remember back to last January when we achieved a record breaking third in a row All Ireland Club titles after an epic battle with Kilcoo from Co Down. However the year will forever be remembered as the year of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the dramatic impact the disease inflicted on all aspects of life. The club responded to the first phase of restrictions with the establishment of a Covid Outreach network whereby the parish was subdivided in the 6 school areas and a total of 70 volunteers coordinated by 6 leaders ensured that resources were made available to parishioners who wished to avail of assistance in this difficult period as the country came to terms with a new normal. Many thanks to the area team leaders and to all involved.
We sincerely thank the managers and mentors at all levels in the club from under six up to senior for their work and commitment during the year despite the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic.
Although our fundraising activities for the year were limited, we thank our sponsors and all who supported our efforts. We especially thank all who supported our weekly lotto draw which continued for most of the year with exception of a break during the height of the pandemic in April and May. Thanks to the efforts of the lotto committee who operate the weekly draw in a difficult period for lotto sales.
We finally thank all our loyal supporters for their ongoing encouragement and help in these difficult times. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year for everyone.
Lotto numbers drawn 3, 6, 9, 13. Three match 3s Niall Collins, Padraic King, Anne Marie Walsh. Two lucky dips Eileen Ryan, Malgorzata Pietra. Seller’s prize John Coen. Next week's jackpot is €9,500 and draw in Club Office.
Thanks to all our Lotto players and good luck in 2021.
