LOTTO:

No winner of this week's Lotto.  Numbers drawn 6, 30, 31, 32. Seller’s prize John Coen. Next week’s jackpot is €4,250 and draw in Club Office.

FIXTURES:

The 2020 Senior and Intermediate Club Championship draws were held in the Claregalway Hotel on Thursday last.

In the senior championship Corofin are in Group C with Killannin, Claregalway, Barna, An Cheathrú Rua and St James.

In the intermediate championship Corofin are in Group D with Dunmore MacHales, CLG Oileáin Árann and Menlough.

Our senior team return to action when they play Milltown the league division 1 on Saturday at 2.00 pm in Milltown.  

UNDERAGE:
Well done to everyone involved the underage medal presentation for boys and girls which took place on Saturday in the Árd Rí House Hotel, Tuam.  A special thanks to the men’s and ladies’ senior players who attended and presented medals to the underage players. 

GALWAY FOOTBALLERS:

Galway footballers had a very good win over Tyrone on Sunday in Tuam Stadium, winning by 2-25 to 0-12.  Both Liam Silke and Ronan Steede played the full game for Galway with Ronan kicking three points from play in the first half.  Galway are now top of division 1, level with Dublin but on a better scoring difference.  Next up for Galway will be a trip to Navan next Sunday to take on Meath.   

Galway under-20 footballers’ defeated Leitrim in the Connacht semi-final at the weekend.  The final score was 1-12 to 0-2, with Matthew Cooley scoring the goal in the second half.  Galway will play Roscommon in the final on Saturday, March 7th in Tuam Stadium

CLUB SOCIAL:

All Ireland medal and Junior medal presentation night will take place on Monday 16th March (St Patrick’s eve) in the Claregalway Hotel. Further details later.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Galway ladies had an impressive win over Dublin on Sunday by 4-06 to 2-06.  Well done to Tracey and Roisín Leonard who accounted for 3-3 of Galway’s total. 

SYMPATHY:The club would like to express its sympathy to the family of Murty Hanly, who passed away suddenly in Mullingar. Murty was a member of our break-through County minor champions in 1962 and served the club with distinction for many years as a player, team mentor and club officer. He also served as treasurer of the County Football board for several years.
